With his last 7 films being independent films, Matthew Mcconaughey said that he had his best, most fun and creative year making films and yet he lost money for the first time. At the Sundance Film Festival, he starred in an indie film "Mud" with Reese Witherspoon, playing a role that was custom-written just for him. While Mcconaughey has been the ultimate catch for independent movie makers for the past couple of years, indie films don't pay as much as blockbuster films. He doesn't seem to mind.
