Dreamworks is alleged to have stolen a musical drama screenplay created by a Marilyn Monroe impersonator. The lawsuit can cost the company about $10 million. A USB flash drive owned by Weiss, the impersonator, was stolen by a man in black in an internet shop. It contained all the screenplay details including the plot, wardrobe, overall theme and many more details which Dreamworks is alleged to be currently using on their show, Smash. Steven Spielberg of Dreamworks got a query letter about the plot and the characters but the studio failed to comment on the issue. The charges include copyright infringement, unfair competition and a few more.
